Ashreigney Branch held a Gold and Silver Evening with Valuer, Chris Hampton, of Bearnes, Hampton & Littlewood of Exeter.

About 40 people attendded with a very interesting array of Gold and Silver - a James 1st Chalice being the oldest piece of silver and one or two sovereigns dated in the early 1800's.  Chris Hampton gave an interesting commentary on all the pieces, one or two of which made the audience take in their breath when learning the value!

A delicious buffet supper was provided including the most tasty cucumber sandwiches which disappeared in moments... Culminating with a marvelous fresh raspberry cream sponge gateaux made by Rose Wedlake, who incidenally, celebrated her 80th birthday at the event.  What an amazing lady.
